ONTARIO >> Ontario police will screen for impaired drivers at a DUI checkpoint someplace in the city between 6 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday, officials announced.

While the location is not publicized, locations are selected based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests, officials said in a news release.

Officers will be looking for signs of drug- or alcohol-impairment as well as checking for licensed drivers.

Drivers caught driving impaired can expect the impact of a DUI arrest to include jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes and other expenses that can exceed $10,000, according to the release.
