Sheriff’s cruiser involved in three-vehicle crash in Walnut

WALNUT >> A sheriff’s vehicle was involved in a three-vehicle collision in Walnut today, but no one was seriously injured.

The crash was reported about 4:50 p.m. at the intersection of Valley Boulevard and Lemon Avenue, authorities said.

A deputy was on westbound Valley Boulevard stopped to make a left turn onto southbound Lemon Avenue when the cruiser was struck by another vehicle, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The patrol vehicle then careened into a third vehicle.

One person complained of shoulder pain from a seat belt, but was not taken to a hospital.

The intersection was closed for about two hours while the crash was investigated.
