ONTARIO >> An Eastvale woman was killed in a crash Thursday on the 60 Freeway, officials said.
The 22-year-old woman was a passenger in a Toyota Corolla that was rear-ended by a box truck around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, said Sgt. Jeff Higbee, spokesman for the Ontario Police Department.
“The other three occupants of the Toyota and the driver of the truck were transported to Arrowhead (Regional Medical Center) for non-life-threatening injuries,” Higbee said in an email.
Investigators cleared the scene and reopened the Milliken Avenue offramp around 6 a.m. Friday.
Based on the preliminary investigation, the truck, driven by 41-year-old Angel Gallarzo of Riverside, rear-ended the Toyota, according to police.
Gallarzo was arrested on a traffic warrant for a previous violation of driving on a suspended driver’s license. Gallarzo’s possible impairment is still under investigation.
Anyone who may have witnessed this collision or who has information related to the investigation is asked to contact Cpl. Fred Ruiz at 909-395-2001, ext. 4687.
