FONTANA >> A motorist was last listed in critical condition following a head-on crash in Fontana Thursday morning.
Just before 9 a.m., Fontana police officers were called to the area of Etiwanda Avenue north of Jurupa Avenue for a crash, according to a news release.
Investigators learned a vehicle travelling south on Etiwanda Avenue crossed over into the northbound lanes and crashed head-on with a northbound vehicle, officials said.
The driver of the northbound vehicle suffered minor injuries, but the driver of the southbound vehicle was seriously hurt, according to the police statement.
Paramedics took the critically injured driver to a hospital.
The collision is under investigation by the Fontana Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
