One person was killed and two people injured on the 210 Freeway in Rancho Cucamonga after a vehicle veered across all lanes of the roadway and crashed into an embankment.
Emauri Kahjancye Scott, 21, of San Bernardino, died at the scene of the 3:15 a.m. Friday crash on the 210 Freeway near Archibald Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga, a San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office news release states.
According to a California Highway Patrol news release, one of two other people in the car, a 20-year-old woman also from San Bernardino, was removed from the car with no pulse. CHP officers reportedly performed CPR on her until paramedics arrived. She was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton with major injuries, the news release states.
The driver of the car, a 22-year-old woman from Moreno Valley, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The CHP news release states the Moreno Valley woman was driving a silver Chrysler Sebring east on the 210 Freeway east of Archibald Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga at an unknown speed when, for an unknown reason, she veered right.
After crossing all lanes of traffic and the right shoulder of the freeway, the car crashed into a asphalt curb, drove up a dirt embankment and hit a palm tree before rolling and landing on its wheels, the news release continues.
