FONTANA >> A man was killed Tuesday after the vehicle he was riding in was sideswiped, sending it into a series of parked cars and fatally injuring him, Fontana police said.
Two vehicles were traveling north on Mulberry Avenue, approaching Slover Avenue, according to a police statement, when one of the vehicles sideswiped the other causing the second vehicle to swerve into several parked cars on the west curb of Mulberry Avenue. Police did not release the time of the crash.
Both the driver and unidentified passenger were seriously hurt in the crash and were taken to a hospital where the passenger later died, police said. The passenger’s identity was not revealed.
The condition of the driver is unknown.
The crash is currently under investigation by the Fontana Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
