Chino man dies in crash in Baker

BAKER >> A 70-year-old Chino man has been identified as the person killed in a crash in Baker Wednesday, coroner’s officials said.

Richard Newcomer was a passenger in a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan traveling north on the 15 Freeway when the driver drifted into the slower lane colliding into the back of a slower-moving tractor trailer, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s website.

Newcomer was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
