Moreno Valley motorcyclist dies in Colton crash

COLTON >> A Moreno Valley motorcyclist was killed Monday evening in Colton after he collided with a Honda making a left turn, officials said.

The 49-year-old was not identified in a Tuesday morning statement from the Colton Police Department.

Just after 5:30 p.m., officers were called to the area of Hunts and Cooley lanes for the crash, according to a release.

Authorities learned the rider was traveling south on Hunts Lane on a 1996 Triumph motorcycle when it ran into a the Honda CRV that was making a left turn to go west on Cooley Lane, officials said.

The rider was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he later died.

The Colton Police Departments Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the collision. At this time, there is no reason to suspect that drugs or alcohol were involved, officials said.
