The pursuit began before 2 p.m., Cpl. Fred Alvarez of the Ontario Police Department, said. It started with a fail-to-yield violation in Ontario, but traversed several nearby cities before ending in Rancho Cucamonga.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s helicopter, 40-King, was called in to help with the pursuit, which went eastbound on Foothill Boulevard for several miles until it reached the Fontana area, according to sheriff’s reports.
Just before 2:30, the pursuit returned westward and headed back toward Rancho Cucamonga.
It came to an end at the Foothill Marketplace at Foothill Boulevard and Etiwanda Avenue.
Police said the driver, 34-year-old Habib Ramirez, was taken into custody and booked into West Valley Detention Center for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sales and evading arrest.
