MT. BALDY >> A Mission Viejo man died Wednesday when his motorcycle crashed head-on with a car on Mt. Baldy Road.

Shortly before 4 p.m. Patrick James Cragin, 20, was riding his 2007 Honda CBR motorcycle at a high rate of speed down San Antonio Creek Road when he crossed the double yellow line separating lanes in a downhill curve, according to a California Highway Patrol news release.

At the same time, Mt. Baldy resident Christy Lynn Catalano, 38, was driving north up San Antonio Creek Road when she entered the same curve in the road.

Cragin struck the front of Catalano’s 2016 Subaru Crostrek ejecting him from his motorcycle sliding down an embankment, according to the dispatch.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Catalano suffered minor bruising as a result of the collision.
