MONTCLAIR >> The man accused of causing a fatal crash when he allegedly drove the wrong way on the 10 Freeway in Montclair was expected to be in court Tuesday morning, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s booking records show.
Christopher Olivas, 23, of Fontana was arrested and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter in connection to the crash that killed Daisy Batres, 52, of Rialto on Oct. 13, California Highway Patrol officials said. He was scheduled to appear in West Valley Superior Court in Rancho Cucamonga.
Around 3 a.m. Thursday, Olivas was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe east on the westbound 10 near Monte Vista Avenue when he collided with two vehicles, including the Nissan Sentra driven by Batres.
Olivas is currently being held at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga in lieu of $375,000 bail.
