MONTCLAIR >> A 53-year-old woman was killed when a wrong-way driver collided into her car early Thursday morning on the westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway in Montclair, according to California Highway Patrol.

The alleged wrong-way driver, Christopher Olivas, 23, of Fontana was arrested and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter, CHP Officer Jesus Garcia said.
Olivas was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe east on the westbound 10 near Monte Vista Avenue around 3 a.m., when he collided with two vehicles, including the Nissan Sentra the 53-year-old woman killed was driving, the CHP alleges. Her identity was not available as of 10 a.m.
“After she was struck, she then crashed into a Chevrolet Traverse driven by a 29-year-old Baldwin Park woman,” Garcia said.
The freeway was shut down for nearly four hours as CHP officials investigated the crashes.
Traffic was backed up to the 15 Freeway.
