POMONA >> Police are investigating a fatal crash between a vehicle and a motorcycle Friday morning.
Shortly before 9 a.m., officers responded to the crash at Fairplex Drive and Elwood Street, where they found the motorcyclist — a man in his 70s — in the road with severe injuries, according to a police news release.
Los Angeles County firefighters arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
A stretch of Fairplex Drive — south of the 10 Freeway between Avalon and Club drives — was closed in both directions as investigators worked the accident scene, police said in their dispatch.
That stretch of road reopened shortly after noon.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
The other party involved in the collision stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said.
