ONTARIO >> An 84-year-old Jurupa Valley woman was killed when the vehicle she was traveling in slammed into the back of a tractor trailer Tuesday night in Ontario, officials said.
The crash took place just after 9 p.m. along Jurupa Street near Sarah Place in Ontario, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s website.
The elderly woman was a right front passenger in a 2000 Mercedes SUV that was traveling east on Jurupa Street, officials said.
For reasons yet to be determined, the unnamed driver of the Mercedes rear-ended a tractor trailer.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released.
The Ontario Police Department is investigating the collision.
