San Bernardino man dies in fiery Rialto pickup crash

RIALTO >> Police are investigating a fiery fatal crash that claimed the life of a San Bernardino man early Sunday morning.

Shortly before 3 a.m., Rialto police found a 2004 Nissan Titan crashed into a tree in the 1300 block of North Pepper Avenue near Mariposa Drive, according to a news release.

Officers found the pickup truck fully engulfed in flames. Once firefighters extinguished the blaze, a man was found dead inside the vehicle, according to the statement.

The man’s identity is being withheld until his next of kin has been notified.

The department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating, and officials are unclear if alcohol played a factor in this crash.
