Man killed in Cajon Pass crash identified

CAJON PASS >> A man killed in a motorcycle crash Wednesday morning in the Cajon Pass has been identified as Anthony J. Ollenbittle, 33, of Godfrey, Ill., officials said.

Ollenbittle was killed when he crashed into the back of a box truck just after 5:30 a.m. on the southbound lanes of the 15 Freeway near Oak Hill Road, according to a California Highway Patrol news release.

Ollenbittle was riding a 1998 Suzuki GSF motorcycle faster than 80 mph when he ran into a white Hino box truck traveling at about 60 mph in the No. 2 lane, the news release states.

Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the collision. Anyone with information can call 909-383-4247.
