An early-morning crash today in San Bernardino killed one and injured two others after a vehicle ran a red light, police said.

The crash between a Lexus and a semi at Ninth Street and Sierra Way was reported about 3 a.m., according to a tweet from Sgt. Vicki Cervantes.

The driver of the Lexus died at a hospital, and a passenger in the Lexus and the truck driver were injured, Cervantes said.

The vehicles crashed into a light pole and water valve, mixing diesel fuel and water in the intersection. A hazmat team arrived at the scene around 6:30 a.m.

The intersection is expected to be shut down until noon today for the investigation, Cervantes said.

More to come.
