An 88-year-old man who suffered fatal injuries when he fell in front of bus in Pomona and was run over was identified by the coroner’s office on Saturday.
His name was Tsun Tsai, an official said.
The bus was traveling northbound on Reservoir Street, approaching a transit stop north of Phillips Boulevard about 10 a.m. Friday when the man tripped and fell into the roadway, suffering fatal injuries from the bus tires, according to Pomona police Cpl. Alyssa Bostrom.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel pronounced the Pomona resident dead at the scene.
The bus driver was properly licensed and showed no signs of intoxication, Bostrom said.
Pomona’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the fatality. Anyone with information about the crash was urged to call investigators at (909) 620-2081.
