RANCHO CUCAMONGA >> A woman who had just been picked up from LA/Ontario International Airport a few minutes before a fatal crash in Rancho Cucamonga has been identified as Amanda Kristina Polopolus, 30, of Oregon, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s website.
Polopolus was visiting family when she was picked up Sunday morning by a cousin only six minutes before the crash at Arrow Route and White Oak Avenue, according to a news release from the San Bernardino County sheriff’s department.
Polopolus’s cousin was driving a white 2010 Ford Taurus traveling east on Arrow Route and preparing to turn north on White Oak Avenue, officials said. She turned in front of a 2004 Ford F250 pickup truck traveling west on Arrow Route, according to the release.
The impact of the collision ejected Polopolus several feet, officials said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Taurus and her young daughter were taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center for their injuries. The driver and child in the pick up were not injured.
The crash is being investigated by the sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
