MONTCLAIR >> Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a bicyclist, officials said Saturday.
Dieu Van Nguyen, 66, of Montclair was riding his bicycle near the 4600 block of Kingsley Street when he was struck by a pick-up truck shortly before 6:30 p.m. Friday, police said in a news release.
Officers responded to the scene and found Nguyen lying on the sidewalk. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office.
The suspect vehicle was seen speeding away westbound on Kingsley Street from Helena Avenue and possibly southbound on Ramona Avenue, officials said. Police have described the vehicle as a full-sized, dark colored four-door pick-up truck with lights above the windshield on the roof.
