RANCHO CUCAMONGA >> Rancho Cucamonga sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash Tuesday that killed a 22-year-old Ontario man, officials said.
Just after 5 p.m., a 67-year-old woman from Fontana was driving a black 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe north on Grove Avenue, according to a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s statement.
She entered the intersection at San Bernardino Road to make a left turn and turned directly into the path of the 22-year-old rider on a blue Kawasaki motorcycle, officials said.
The rider collided into the passenger side of the Tahoe and was tossed onto the pavement, officials said.
Paramedics took the man to San Antonio Community Hospital in Upland, where he died. His identity has not yet been released.
The color of the traffic light at the intersection is still a point of the investigation, said Deputy Jake Bailey, of the Rancho Cucamonga station. Initial reports indicate the driver had a “solid light” but would not state a color.
The crash is under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information can contact investigators at the Rancho Cucamonga station at 909-477-2800.
