SAN DIMAS – A driver suffered serious injuries when his car hit a curb, a tree, overturned and landed in a yard early Friday morning.
Deputies believe the 35-year-old San Dimas man was ejected.
Authorities are looking into whether alcohol played a factor in the solo crash which occurred just after 1 a.m. in the 1100 block of West Juanita Avenue.
“As far as we can tell, (there was) no street racing,” Lt. Elisabeth Sachs of the Sheriff’s San Dimas station .
She said a 2005 Volkswagen Golf was heading east on Juanita Avenue when it struck a curb, went over the curb and hit a tree at a high rate of speed.
The car rolled over and ended up in a yard at 1144 Juanita Ave.
“When it landed, a wheel came off and hit one of the parked cars at the residence,” Sachs said.
She said an ambulance took the driver to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center where he was in serious but stable condition. Sachs wasn’t sure if the driver wore a seat belt.
Anyone with information is asked to call San Dimas Station at (909)450-2700.
