SCOTTSDALE, Arizona — Alabama coach Nick Saban says offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin “hitched a ride” with him after missing the team bus from University of Phoenix Stadium on Monday night.
After Alabama beat Clemson 45-40 to win the College Football Playoff championship game, Kiffin was delayed leaving the stadium while speaking to a reporter from Fox Sports. The team buses left without him, but Saban was also still at the stadium and had a care waiting for him.
Saban says he usually misses the team bus after games and is the fallback ride for anybody else who does.
“We enjoyed having him with us,” Saban said of Kiffin.
