Driver killed after crashing into storm drain off 60, 15 Freeway connector in Jurupa Valley

JURUPA VALLEY >> The driver of a vehicle that went over an embankment at the westbound 60 Freeway connector to the southbound 15 Freeway and into a storm drain was killed, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 11:09 p.m. Friday, said the Riverside County Fire Department’s April Newman.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, Newman said.

A news videographer at the scene said the driver survived the crash but was struck by a car while running from the scene.

The California Highway Patrol cancelled a SigAlert shutting down the connector roads from the 15 Freeway to the 60 in both directions after it’s on-scene investigation was concluded.
