RANCHO CUCAMONGA >> Two people and a sheriff’s deputy were injured in a traffic collision here early Tuesday morning.
All three were transported to a local hospitals, where they were treated and released for minor injuries, according to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash occurred at 3:21 a.m. as the driver of a 2003 Saturn Ion was heading east on 19th Street and making a northbound turn onto Haven Avenue.
The Ion stalled during the turn as a marked sheriff’s patrolcar was traveling north on Haven Avenue. The patrolcar collided into the stalled Ion in the intersection, according to the news release.
Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff, Region 1 Major Accident Investigation Team, responded to the crash and conducted the investigation. The intersection at Haven Avenue and 19th Street was closed until 12:30 p.m., the release stated.
None of the injured persons was identified. The exact cause of the crash is under investigation.
