POMONA >> A motorist died after a car crashed into a palm tree late Saturday night.
Pomona police officers were called just after 11 p.m. to the 1700 block of S. Garey Avenue where they found a red Toyota Corolla had crashed into a palm tree in the center median of Garey Avenue.
The driver, who was not identified as of Sunday afternoon, received major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision is being investigated by the Pomona Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team. The Los Angeles County Coroner is investigating the cause of death.
